Just a Dream: Collaboration of Apple & Telnic

A first imaginary look behind the closed doors of Silicon Valley!
This is the old-fashioned way how everybody is dialing phone numbers today:
Old Way of Dialing
2012: Phone Number Dialing
In the future a caller will just type in the .tel domain name directly (without installing any additional app) by using the initial keypad of the iPhone (without typing the ending “.tel” – since this will be obligatory):
New Way Of Dialing
2013: Name Dialing
As long the iPhone is connected to the internet (via WiFi or mobile phone connection) the related phone numbers to dial will be looked up by a simple “DNS (= Domain Name System) query” within milliseconds from this source:
Justin.tel
Data Origin for Name Dialing
To secure the comfort of this application the settings of the iPhone will be extended:

The following enhancements will be realized:
1.) The traditional iPhone keypad with numbers can be replaced by keyboard letters.
2.) For the connection to any reachable phone number the dialing of all known numbers of a targeted contact at the same time can be enabled.
3.) If desired a notification can be displayed which needs to be confirmed before the selected number will be dialed.

By default the caller can decide what kind of numbers is allowed to dial (for the purpose of cost reduction):

So far Apple & Telnic haven’t revealed any information if these features will be implemented into the iPhone 5 already or later into the iPhone 6.
