Cellcom, NTTM collaborate on name dialing
Cellcom is the first Israeli mobile carrier to install the alternative to number dialing system, which will begin operating in the first half of 2011.
NTTM has been developing its name dialing technology over the past three years. The system is inputted into a mobile phone SIM card, enabling it to receive letters and place a call as if a number were dialed. The user, either an individual or a business, chooses the meaningful name for dialing based on letters, alphabet, digits, and symbols of any length. For example, a business can create a name dial, such as "Globes", which will facilitate calls to it.
Based in Wembley, London, NTTM has an R&D center in Ramat Gan and offices in Moscow. The company has developed algorithms and technology for smart cards.
