Advisory Concerning Posting of Registrar Fees for Restoring Deleted Domain Names

17 December 2009

In an effort to minimize registrar confusion and encourage compliance with the Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA) http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/ra-agreement-21may09-en.htm, ICANN developed an Advisory [PDF, 100K] regarding the Expired Domain Deletion Policy (EDDP). The purpose of this Advisory [PDF, 100K] is to clarify a requirement within the EDDP regarding what must be displayed on accredited registrars' websites.

The EDDP is a Consensus Policy adopted by ICANN's Board of Directors on 21 September 2004 (see http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/eddp.htm). The EDDP is incorporated into ICANN's RAA at Section 3.7.5. Registrars are encouraged to read the Advisory [PDF, 100K] carefully and contact ICANN at william.mckelligott@icann.org with any questions.
