Dear Readers:
The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. The final week of the 2009 sales season saw the kind of light overall activity you expect over the holidays but it still produced a pair of impressive six-figure sales. Setting the pace was a $350,000 blockbuster handled by NoktaDomains and another solid six-figure sale from Sedo. Three country code domains and a pair of non .com gTLDs joined the usual complement of .coms on our new Top 20 Sales chart. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm
Our final 2009 Top 100 sales chart was also completed this week – you can check it out here: http://www.dnjournal.com/ytd-sales-charts.htm
Also new at DN Journal this week is a preview of the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. domain conference coming up Jan. 21-23 in Las Vegas, featuring an interview with show promoter Rick Latona. You can read that here: http://www.dnjournal.com/events/2010/traffic-lasvegas-preview.htm
We also plan to have a preview of the DOMAINfest Global conference coming to Santa Monica, California Jan. 26-28 posted soon. I will be at both events and hope to see many of you there.
Finally, we want to congratulate recording artist and domainer's daughter Lizzy Grant on the release of her first full-length album - Lana Del Ray (a moniker that also serves as her stage name) that is now available on iTunes and Amazon.com. Lizzy is the daughter of veteran domain investor Rob Grant who was the subject of our April 2008 Cover Story. You can read my review of her hypnotic new album in our daily Lowdown section here: http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/lowdown/2010/dailyposts/20100105.htm
The DNJournal.com email update service and our free monthly newsletter are made possible through the sponsorship of DomainSponsor.com, Moniker.com and Snapnames.com – Members of the Oversee.net family and pioneers in providing the full range of domain lifecycle services, from registration to traffic monetization to aftermarket sales and service.
Best Wishes,
Ron Jackson
